i know i keep comparing, but work at novus as compared to meritus is really damn relaxed la haha. maybe i was overworked last time heh D: ytd was just serving finger food at an event by some designer called barbara barry at some atas furniture shop at ion there which sells like 32k sofas and other overpriced stuff. the life of the rich sigh.
work ended early at 10, so went down to cuppage to eat supper with the other workers/friends me junbo yaozhong xianyong louis and 2 err some girls la haha dunno. wanton mee yay :D
today dragged myself out of bed trng at anchorvale again T.T anw supposed to go watch rapunzel after that mmm then while deciding where to go watch girl says oh $14 very expensive don't want la. and a while later guy says aiyah $14 no money la, so in the end the juniors went to i dunno where for lunch and like boring stuff while the cool(er) seniors went to eat lunch JAPPPPPPPP BUFFETTTTTT NIHONNNN MURAAAAA :D :D :D dayong kanzy sijie daryl me.
my whole (post NS) life i've been waiting for this moment, throughout the wallabies and starlights, the craving for jap food has been omnipresent, and i have long resisted the temptation. UNTIL NOW.
please give me 5 seconds to go crazy
sashimi x 33 plates (1 x squid, 2 x prawn, 25 x salmon, 5 x tuna); jellyfish x 1 plate; octopus x 6 plates; 3 x softshell crab handrolls; 2 x california maki handrolls; 2 x unagi handrolls; fried tofu x 3 plates; gyoza x 4 plates; tori karaage x 2 plates; fried ebi x 2 plates; hotate mentai (some oyster thing)x 7 plates; 6 x chawanmushi; miso soup x 7 bowls; vanilla ice cream x 10 bowls; 1 x coke; 4 x lemon tea; 4 x hot green tea; 2 x F&N grape; 1 x sprite; 2 x peach tea.
plus all the random sushi we had. the receipt never write haha.
majority of the food we finished in like 40mins, then spent the next 45mins or so talking cock and laughing like crazy and just like recharging and stuff, before round 2 for another hour or so. esp now since my sore throat and stuff all almost recovered liao, EAT. :D :D
the auntie waitress seriously damn epic. when kanzy was ordering his last plate of sashimi she went like, ONE sashimi? only ONE sashimi?! i guess she must've been quite shocked after our first 2 orders of 15 plates and 14 plates of sashimi were delivered.
oh and the vanilla ice cream was good too too bad we only managed to get 10 bowls before they stopped us from getting more. no, sorry you can't have any more ice-cream. last order already over liao. pause. you eat all that not enough ah? and then we were like. oh. hungry loh. the face she gave was priceless man.
yup total bill amounted to $108, abt $22 per person haha. okay minus sijie who cheated and said he was a student. not too bad for 2 meals i guess considering we stayed from 2.30 - 5.30 so yup covered lunch and dinner. (: that's $11 a meal only!
oh well haha. i wanted it, i really got it. 1 x good one. really just sit there for 3 hours and eat and eat until die. looks like i'll be staying off jap food for quite a long time heh. and if i see salmon sashimi anytime soon,

4:05 AM (:
12.05pm
after my first lesson on tuesday, i think i can sufficiently evaluate,
A FEW reasons why i should never drive a car:
#1. i stalled the car like 5 or 6 times? manual cars ftw clutch easy to use ah. enough said hahhaa.
#2. i never ever check my blind spot. come to think of it, where is my blind spot anyway. and motorcyclists driving too close to a L plate car are really asking for it la haha.
#3. the instructor says i drive waaaaaaay too fast. then again, this isn't my fault, cause i was previously trained to drive a tank and to move the stupid m113 a tiny bit you had to floor the accelerator. so ya la. out of habit loh (:
#4. i always step on the clutch instead of the brake. the result of too much daytona and stuff. so ya everytime i wanna stop or slow down i end up doing something funny instead sigh. oh well haha :D
haha okay but still. despite all that, and the fact that it drains my money really quickly, i thought driving was really fun hahhaa.
oh on another note, i saw this advert at my house mrt there. its so retarded its funny haha.

2:08 AM (:
10.08am
friday was watching harry potter after trng in the morning. okay la nothing much really. quite boring its more like a lead up to the last movie i guess. but the scenery is really good though.
wow.
haha can really hear the whole cinema sigh the moment she came onscreen. haiiii. okay la when the movie got boring watch hermione loh (: haha she got quite a lot of screen time. and everytime she appears on screen she looks (Y)(Y)(Y) like she could be modelling or sth. haiiii.
anw afterwards was dinner/drinks with luther yiyi sean ernest at timbre. haha okay actually only ernest ate there. cause he was late (as yousual) and by the time he came we alrdy ate at the ps basement there liao. so yaaa we went there for drinks and finger food hahahaha which we ordered after ernest ordered his meal. cause we didn't want to share with him :D sharing food with a hungry person is always disadvantageous heh.
ernest's appetising $21 meal! and since he doesn't eat veg he threw away the leaves and the tomatoes which was like half the meal alrdy hahaha.
then down to selegie tau hueyyyyyyyy for dessert and then home haha. thanks ernest for the ride home :D
saturday was training in the morning then work from afternoon to night. okay la wasn't as bad as i expected, the superiors are really quite friendly, and the work there is definitely less stressful as compared to meritus last time. the difference between a hotel and a cafe sort of thing. (although the last time i worked was like 3 years ago -.-)
but still hhaha after the initial stress its easy to rmb the part timers mentality. the customer is never king. i am. :D
haha i don't really care anw its more like a one off thing, screw up then screw up loh haha. (for the record i didn't in the end okay :D) but aiyah being on my feet for 9 hours straight after training in the morning was really quite tiring heh.
oh haha we had this co-worker who was quite dao at first one turned out she was from nygh D: coldkohnut auntie cold jiamin's netball jnr. haha tried to ask her to join frisbee but aiyah she say she wanna join netball -.-
work ended quite promptly at 11. okay actually the function hadn't ended yet la. but they let us go still haha. i guess cause contract sign liao ma haha. so yay no more standing on my feet :D home then sleep (: thankfully i live near dhoby haha.
winter league today sigh. triple header at anchorvale aksjdlaksjdaksjlasjd. tiredddddd ): because cider is the elixir of life

3:03 PM \:
11.03pm
training today was bad personally but lets not talk abt it.
i applied for the relief teaching license today. to teach kids in a primary school haha. i seriously doubt i'm up for the job. teaching p school kids isn't easy. as if teaching isn't in itself a tall order, you'd still have to babysit them, scold them, bring them around, spoon feed them, care for them, counsel them, give them advice. more imptly, kids of their age are the most impressionable people. if they had me for a teacher, its the end (ITE)
Exams are coming. Nowadays I can't watch much TV because my parents always want me to study. All they think about is study. Even in the holidays, I have to do at least 1 assesment book. That is quite terrible for me. Now, my father says that if i do badly, he will cane me. Everytime he canes me, he will cane for 15-30 minutes. In the end, I'll become a "Hamburger". I'm so scared of him. What should i do? :'( (yes i actually drew a picture of a crying boy)
- my p5 journal, 17th Feb 2001
If you don't want to be cane, (grammer mistake D:) the first thing you should do is to pay attention in class, have self discipline and stop teasing the girls in class! Concentrate on your work.
- my teacher's reply. pwned ):
new found self discipline yo! note the sad face sigh.
haha i'll never be able to tell them all that la. how to when i was probably worse than them last time D: i guess the reason why i'm doing this is cause the band ppl are doing it also. working with friends is (Y)(Y)(Y) how i wish i hadn't been such an asshole last time. bad karma ya ):
Anyway, Music, English, Art and Maths are boring. That is my message. Anyway, Mrs Lee, can you please be more interesting?
- 5th Feb 2001
hopefully i don't get students like myself haha. D: because cider is the elixir of life

4:36 PM :\
12.53am
oh well. (: wallaby, the land of the freezing cold nights, angry magpies, $5 microwave meals, sabina points, kangaroos, wallabies, gum trees, sandflies, camp growl canteens, kabanas, kebabs, exploding heaters, racists and lotsa beef.
17/10/10 - 08/11/10
okay la firstly i must admit that despite whining and complaining like crazy i'm quite glad i went for this trip in the end. mostly cause of the huge training area (abt 4 times the size of sg in total), which makes a lot of our training relevant and not seem so lame afterall (:
accomodation there sucked though. we were really housed in tentages, sleeping on safari beds on sandy floor, so when it rained, the whole floor became an entire mess of mud.
yup we had over 50 tents in total la. D:
there wasn't any proper toilets either, we had to shit in a shit hole, then pour sawdust into the hole to cover up the stench. cui.
haha sometimes i think i'd rather stay outfield than in camp cause i dunno. camp conditions are almost the same as outfield plus the scenery's a lot better outside (Y) and you don't get arrowed to do random saigang (Y)(Y)
okay if a picture had to sum up the entire shoalwater bay training area, it would be this.
long sandy tracks, going up and down small hills winding along all the way and lots and lots of sparse vegetation.
first week was component training the whole way. company mission exercise (CME) was for us to do all the planning for the coy lines. then section/platoon ALFS we weren't involved, so we got deployed as enemy for the scouts. haha okay la quite slack for me la since i was the enemy 2IC, so not really supposed to actively catch scouts just go around checking to make sure no one got bitten by a snake or what la.
second week mainly just ex valiant conqueror (vc) which was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip la. more of a summex for us AISL guys cause we've never really been through a bn exercise before, so with this i guess it'd be easier to understand what we've (or rather, they've) learnt so far.
we got off to a great start to a great exercise (: s2's vehicle couldn't start on the first day. so we waited for almost 6 hours for the technicians to repair. in the end couldn't repair, so had to bring in another vehicle and cross load all the stuff zzz.
nevertheless, life goes on sigh. it would've been nice if we just declared ourselves dead and went back to sleep, but oh well sigh. worse still, CO seemed to like dawn attacks, which meant really little sleep throughout the exercise, ranging for 10mins to 3 hours ):
planning/practice in the evening,
move through the morning,
attack at first light.
okay la must admit that the feeling of standing in the vehicle throughout the night while on the move as a vc or mg gunner for 8 hours (2am to 10am), in temperatures of abt 14 degrees (excluding wind chill), sand blowing through my hair, hands almost numb with cold, down that stupid hilly shogan axis, >: ( is really a once in a lifetime opportunity. but once is enough la heh.
CO's vehicle!
and the view from s2's vehicle hanging around behind CO's veh. like some kind of dog like that.
oh and we got to try out the TES set thing the laser game thingy haha. which was quite useless also actually. like there was once CO was giving a briefing to all the OCs and PSOs and stuff then suddenly we got attacked by 3 SOF enemies who mistook us for brigade hq. by right everyone should've been dead, then maybe exercise cut haha. but CO went to argue with the ABGTC ppl the umpires and stuff and in the end everyone got revived sigh. aiyah didn't make much of a diff for me either way. i didn't even put in the battery to start the system haha. (:
yup then after ex vc was brigade life firing which i thought would be the climax of the trip but turned out to be a huge disappointment ): the F16 dropped dummy bombs, the arti bombardments were almost negligible, and AI tanks firing was sth we've seen over and over again, so pretty much the same old la.
only interesting part was the 2 apaches who came down and fired .5" and hellfire missiles. then everyone was like ooohh for 10 seconds hhaha but that's abt it ):
ya it looks more interesting than it really is so can guess how boring the whole thing was la zzz.
they officially allowed cameras for bde live firing so naturally the whole thing became like a camwhore fest la. esp for the ORDing personnel (:
40SAR specs (:
AISL 01/09 (:
AISL platoon 5 with our pc (now rsm)
P5S3! :D
haha then servicing and mantainence and handing over of all the stuff back for the last week or so. time really drags by when you have absolutely nothing to do la ): boring like hell.
RnR was no better either. rockhampton town was really just a town. buildings rarely above 2 storeys high. if singapore's policy is to build high theirs is to build as wide as possible la. and its totally local-centric la (if there's such a word haha) the shops there are like all grocery shops and stuff coles woolworths and target. which is like fairprice giant and isetan la. totally nothing to do can. our RnR landed on a weekend and they said australians are v family orientated so the shops closed at what 3pm-4pm like that. and really the streets are totally deserted la. boringggg.
everyone couldn't wait to get back home la. after rockhampton, everything in sg is exciting pls.
with chongchen and jiehao at some central queensland uni. where we had our lunch haha. meals there are quite good initially cause rockhampton's the beef capital of australia so there's tons and tons of beef. but after a few meals it really starts to get disgusting haha. quantity yes, quality nooo ):
oh and the locals there are really quite racists. shan't elaborate more, but i'm glad to be back in sg where the streets are safe. (:
but like ken yeow said, no matter what kind of shit you're in, one day it will come to an end.
we left rockhampton 07/11/10 and after another 7 hour flight reached back singapore yay (: its quite surreal really to think back and realise that in the short span of 12 hours i changed from a SAF training troop in australia to a normal sg citizen who doesn't have to go back to camp for full time service anymore.
not saying anything or what but i'm quite glad my army life turned out exactly the way it did haha. okay i shall make a post-ns post one day when i get the AISL pictures from jinghui haha.
