(:
12.29am
genting 6th - 8th Dec
KL 9th - 12th Dec
call me a sua ku,
but i've never eaten breakfast
on top of a mountain
amongst the clouds.

haha okay it looks really blur and stuff
but its really all very misty and cloud-y yay (:
even counting in
all the amusement park rides
or cheap movie tickets in genting,
that alone made the trip worth every cent.

okay the white spots aren't mist or whatever
its just the window pane that's dirty haha.
but still. a view like this with breakfast is (Y)
okay lets ignore the fact that its a family trip
and i didn't have to pay anything la haha.
mmm then home to resup and rest for a day
before KL the next day with jiehao haha.
okay rujun was supposed to go too
but there was some cock up along the way
and he didn't get his visa done in time.
chinaman ftw (:
and ernest as promised,
lots and lots of photos haha.
yup so yay again the sua ku
but i've never taken the KTM before,
so yay kinda exciting really
after a whole lifetime of MRTs and electric trains,
to sit an environmentally unfriendly
carbon coughing bumpy machine was
exciting to say the least.

at the train station

andddd with the train itself.
but aiyah 11pm train ride
so not much scenery and stuff
just spent the time sleeping loh.
or trying to la haha
there was this annoying malaysian chinese kid
who kept disturbing the whole world
who was in the same carriage as us sigh.
anw this trip was rather improptu
not much planning and stuff
just getting train tickets and hotel rooms
and yupp more or less
that's our preperations liao.
which meant a lot of walking at KL itself
finding interesting places,
getting lost, eating good food,
getting diarrhea, getting tired.
okay we didn't actually get diarrhea
but i just felt like putting that down haha.
don't know if its by coincidence or what
but somehow the first place we ended up at
was some sort of wet market thingy
which we later found out that apparently
its listed as the #1 place to go in asia on lonelyplanet.com
pudu market. and no wonder.
the whole place is just bustling with activity
people going about their daily lives,
selling livestock, buying groceries,
so lively so colourful
and so real.
nobody's touting stuff,
noone's blowing prices sky high,
nobody even took notice of us in fact
wow. (Y)
but that place is really.
dirty and smelly and messy and totally awesome la.
the floor is made of thousands of broken cockle shells,
there're puddles of muddy water
mixed with fish and whatever animal's blood,
rats run around freely, flies buzz overhead,
and they really sell everything there can.

from vegetables

to live fishes

and chickens

crabs

catfishes

small sharks.

even breakfast.
wanton mee and teh ping
only cause the auntie didn't know what bandung was.
and i was like. huh?!
cause isn't bundung supposed to be like
a malay thing or what. sigh.

nope they don't sell cats,
but this is the cute kitten
that kept us company during breakfast.
apparently muslim too,
it didn't eat the char siew
that we tried feeding it ):
okay but from then onwards
every potential place of interest
was just disspointment after disappointment
cause really. its quite lame.
everywhere around the city
stallowners are touting the same products
for ridiculous prices,
trying to fleece tourists of their money
after discount, RM50.
best price!
woman walks away in disgust.
lady, lady, 20RM! 20RM!
no, no, 10! 10RM!
yup its like that everywhere.

at chinatown. which was really tiny though,
nothing like singapore's,
and definitely nothing like taiwan's.

or little india. which is also uncomparable to singapore's.
okay must say we didn't do much here
just walked around maybe once
then nothing much of interest
so zao liao loh.
so yupp our trip ended up
as more of a food hunt instead.
of course i didn't plan for this
but since it ended up this way
then yay haha i'm fine with it too :D

good food galore

at the most disgusting of places

but its okay cause jiehao brough diarrhea pills heh

so can just eat to our heart's content (:
problem was.
we pretty much finished walking in the first day
so the second day was more or less
walking around to waste time haha.
thankfully our hotel was within range
of the petronas twin towers
so at least nothing to do can go around walk walk
at the mall there which was probably
the most decent mall in KL sigh.

yup our room on the 14th floor (:

anddd the twin towers.
okay this really isn't photoshopped or anything.
the twin towers really are that bright.
can see from the photo below.

yup if you see properly
can see the light from the twin towers
being caught on the low lying clouds
much like 2 x lightsabers like that.
haha okay i'm quite glad in the end
that we stayed one more night at KL
to take the morning train back to sg
instead of another night ride.
cause boring as KL is,
i think the train ride back
made the bore worth it all (:

cause riding on the train in the day
really allows you to see
the way the malaysians live
their every day lives and stuff.
you see so many things
that you probably wouldn't be able to at night.

oil palm plantations
many many many acres of them in fact.

hills and mountains,

rocks and trees,

villages and roads

even aspiring models.
standing at the back door of the train
wind (and sooty smoke) in my hair
i really enjoyed the trip back
much more than the trip there really.
very annoyingly though
i'm still feeling the rocking and swaying at home
after 8 hours of continuous rocking and swaying
on the train itself sigh.

home sweet home.
because cider is the elixir of life
